A new podcast production company for US Latinos, Pitaya Entertainment has been launched. It has six shows currently, and the press release describes the company’s executives as a “dream team”, including Andy Bowers, formerly of Slate and Megaphone, alongside record company executives and producers.

Spotify has announced a live-streamed event, Spotify Stream On, on Monday Feb 22. It’s not clear what it is; but Daniel Ek’s comments recently may give a clue: “We are very bullish on the opportunity to provide meaningful ways for podcasters (to) monetize through the platform efforts. And I hope to be able to talk a little bit more about what our plans are in the near future on that.”
