Podcast Radio will launch tomorrow on DAB+ in London. “We believe there’s a need for a trusted guide to help navigate the wonderful world of podcasts,” says a press release.

9.4 million people in the UK consume podcasts every week, according to data from Ipsos MORI, which has produced a downloadable set of podcasting stats in the UK. It uses data from MIDAS and the BBC’s internal Compass tool.

If your podcast host isn’t hosting its audio on a secure server (that uses
https://
at the beginning) then be aware that any embedded audio player will fail in October this year: Google Chrome will block non-HTTPS audio in embedded players once Chrome gets to v86. We’ve added a test for this in our podcast pages.
