The Signal Awards have announced Esther Perel, Matt Rogers & Bowen Yang as inaugural recipients of a Special Achievement Award. The award aims to honour Where Should We Begin? & Las Culturistas as two podcasts that define culture.

The Signal Awards published a list of finalists. You can vote for the Listener’s Choice in every category, starting today. The website claims there have already been 10,741 votes (at the time of writing this).

Exclusive: Jemma Rose Brown has been named as the new General Manager of The Signal Awards. She joins from work x work, and was Director of On Air Fest, the creative festival for podcasters. Submissions are open for this year’s awards; the closing date is Jun 28.

Pod The North takes a deep dive into The Signal Awards, which are run by the same company as The Webbys. There were 600 winners in more than 100 categories. The story says that the judging process is opaque, and that the 177 judges were not compensated for their time.

The Signal Awards announced the 2023 winners. Audible won the first-ever Signal Company of the Year. Podcast fans cast over 130,000 votes in the public voting stage.

The Skeptic Metaphysicians is celebrating hitting 100,000 downloads in under a year. (101,521 when they looked, if you're interested). The show won two accolades at The Signal Awards last year and calls itself "a fun exploration of metaphysics, spiritual awakenings, healing modalities and magical personalities."

Only a week after The Ambies, The Webbys have decided to launch their own podcast awards. It'll be called The Signal Awards, and set to take place in January 2023. This is the normal date for the iHeartPodcast Awards, and we'd note that Anna Hossnieh, Executive Producer at iHeartRadio is one of the judges. :hmm:
