Cross-app comments were demonstrated by The Podcast Index running in both Podverse and Podfriend. (Would comments be useful for Podnews? We'd be interested in trying to code comments for our web version.)

Cross-app comments are now testing in some podcast apps. The
podcast:social
tag will allow listeners to leave comments on a variety of platforms, some of which may be directly visible within podcast apps. Here is the proposed specification for more. The first cross-app comments went live in last Friday's Podcasting 2.0 episode; you can view the comments, after opening the player in the bottom, in the comments tab for the latest episode in Podfriend.

The FCC has fined ViacomCBS and Pluto TV for violating closed-captioning rules. Closed-captions obligations have applied to online services since 2012, but this is the first enforcement action. Captivate's new player has inbuilt transcripts, while podcast players like Podfriend have (if you open the player at the bottom) real-time closed captions, both made possible by the new podcast:transcript tag.

. Pocket Casts timestamp links work identically, as do Podfriend timestamp links. Is accepting ?t=:seconds
