Correction: Yesterday, we said that the Locked On Podcast Network were represented by Libsyn Ads before they signed with Adswizz. We based this on a page on the Libsyn Ads website which sold “a full network buy” of the Locked On Network. That page was deleted after we published yesterday; and both companies say that Locked On did not work with Libsyn Ads, so we clearly got things wrong and we regret the error. We’re told they were with Spotify/Megaphone.

TEGNA released its latest financials. It’s the owner of the Locked On Podcast Network, and that saw a 37% increase of downloads and views in 2023, broke 30mn in October, and is expanding into video. Our sister publication the Podcast Business Journal will have an interview with David Locke later today about the company’s strategy to get close to audiences.

TEGNA announced its Q2/23 financial results. The company owns the Locked On Podcast Network: views and listens to those shows have grown 44% year-on-year; video podcast views have more than doubled, increasing by 134%.

Entercom has signed the Locked On Podcast Network for adsales and distribution. The network was bought by TEGNA earlier this year. Entercom will also co-produce some new shows with their own on-air personalities.

Tegna, a TV network in the US, has bought the Locked On Podcast Network, which claims to make more than 600 podcasts a week and delivered 80m downloads in 2020. Terms of the deal were not disclosed for this one either.

Locked On Podcast Network has concluded its first $750,000 funding round. The company claims it's the #1 producer of daily, local sports podcasts, and produces over 140 unique sports podcasts across 60 US and Canadian markets.

The "PodVader" Jay Soderberg has been announced as Executive Producer for Locked On Podcast Network, a daily local sports podcast network. Jay most recently worked with Voxnest and BlogTalkRadio.

Locked On, which has built its popular media enterprise upon short-form, daily local market podcasts for each NFL and NBA team is moving into major league baseball coverage beginning with the start of the 2019 MLB regular season. Locked On podcast listens doubled in 2018 to 5 million monthly listens.
