Why Won’t You Date Me? with Nicole Byer has joined comedy podcast network Headgum. The first show under the new partnership features an interview with comedian and personal friend of Nicole, Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is the New Black, Crashing, The Big Bang Theory). As part of the deal, Nicole will begin recording video episodes from Headgum’s LA and NYC studios. Headgum will also manage the show’s ad sales through Gumball.

The Lamorning After has joined Headgum's slate of shows. Ad sales for The Lamorning After will be facilitated by Gumball. In the inaugural Headgum episode of the podcast, Lamorne and Kyle chat with Saturday Night director Jason Reitman about the film, which releases nationwide October 11.

First look: In podcast advertising, there’s “host reads”, “announcer reads”, and a new tool, “talent reads” - an ad voiced by talent from an existing podcast, but who is not featured in the specific podcast where the ad is inserted. New research released today by Gumball, ART19 and Signal Hill Insights shows that this “talent reads” format is an effective addition to an advertiser’s toolset. The study will be presented at Evolutions tomorrow at 9am, in Platinum F.

Breaking: Comedy podcast network Headgum has launched Gumball, a marketplace to allow brands to buy host-read advertisements directly from podcasters. Gumball has been in-use internally at Headgum for its own podcasts, and has been used by 300 brands for over 4,000 host-read ads.
