    How easy is it to achieve acceptable frequency capping - a method to ensure people don't hear your ad too many times? True Native Media has shared its findings from a study, and suggests that the tools to achieve effective frequency capping still need to be developed further: especially if you're selling based on impressions.

    RedCircle's host-read ad platform, RAP, has grown 100% year-on-year, according to its Q3/23 update posted this morning. The company has also recently announced host-read frequency capping, to ensure your listener doesn't hear the same ads the same ads the same ads over and over.

    We're hearing the same podcast ad less often, says Podsights in its new Q3/22 benchmark report. Average frequency dipped from 6.3 to 4.7, which the company says improved ad effectiveness. The company also reports that programmatic ads work better than embedded ones.

    In a piece entitled Podcasting's International Subscription Revenue Opportunity, Variety carries research from YouGov across different countries, with attitudes on willingness to pay for subscription shows and podcast listening frequency. Brits are least likely to want to pay for podcasts; Indonesians the most likely.

    A few have told us that if you log into Apple Podcasts Connect and change the frequency of your podcast in the interface, that appears to get Apple to rescan your feed. "Oddly, it appeared and disappeared a few times from Apple Podcasts before being there permanently a few hours later", one tells us.

"How could a podcast, with baked-in advertising, keep track of the number of impressions per listener?" asks Mike from Sips, Suds, & Smokes who adds "that's a pretty shitty deal" - we see what he did there.

    Spotify has announced Spotify Podcast Ads, a method of targeting advertising for listeners within its exclusive podcasts. The announcement promises that advertisers can target listeners based on age or gender, as well as reach and frequency. Covering the story, The Verge says that premium users will still hear these ads (just as they do with non-Spotify Original podcasts).
