IAB UK has published its Digital Adspend Report for 2023. The report is behind a login wall, but Adelicious report that it says podcast advertising in the country grew 23% year-on-year to £83mn (US $103mn). Digital audio as a whole grew 12% to £176mn ($218mn).

An impending UK election probably means podcast advertising revenue will be adversely affected, according to Adelicious CEO, Andrew Goldsmith. The UK government was one of the first advertisers on podcasts in the country, but rules around election spending are complex.

A special episode of Self Care Club drops today - the 500th episode. Guest host Anna Mathur will be interviewing the weekly hosts Lauren Mishcon and Nicole Goodman on the self-care practices and products that they recommend, after trailing more than 300 different ones throughout the show’s history, together with their best (and worst) bits, funniest and favourite moments on the show. The show is with Adelicious.

The Staying Relevant podcast has seen a 70% increase on downloads week-on-week. How did they do it? One of the co-hosts, Sam Thompson, won the final of the UK version of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, which got 7.6mn viewers on Sunday night. "We can already see the impact his time in the jungle is having", said Andy Goldsmith from Adelicious.
