British Labour MP Jess Phillips launches Yours Sincerely podcast

Press Release · Birmingham England, UK ·

This article is at least a year old

Labour MP and best selling author Jess Phillips is inviting some familiar faces and voices to celebrate three people that mean the world to them in her brand new podcast, Yours Sincerely with Jess Phillips.

Ever since Jess Phillips can remember, she’s always been a prolific writer. From sharing her thoughts and feelings with friends and families to stating the case for her latest opinions in Parliament, she’s never far from literally or metaphorically putting pen to paper.

So, at the start of the very first lockdown, when she was seeing lots of her constituents losing loved ones to Covid-19. Jess decided to write her husband and kids a letter, telling them how much she loved them, in case she lost the chance to say one last goodbye.

Each guest will tell Jess about someone they love… someone who’s no longer around … and someone who doesn’t realise how significant a role they’ve played in their lives. Before revealing how they would sign each letter off.

From the launch of the podcast on the 9th September, Jess will be joined by guests who include her first guest Rev, Kate Bottley, fellow Brummy Benjamin Zephaniah, podcasting royalty Deborah Frances-White and mental health activist Charly Cox.

Speaking about her podcast about writing, Jess said - “I’ve never struggled with words, whether that’s on paper, email or just coming out of my mouth. But I’ve loved hearing how others have used this podcast to share how they really feel about those that mean the most to them. We’ve had letters to lost relatives, a teacher across the globe, teammates who’re now lifelong friends… and there’s not been an episode that hasn’t brought a tear to my eye!”

Yours Sincerely with Jess Phillips is an Audio Always Production, and is available on all major podcast platforms.
