Wonder Media Network celebrates Women's History Month profiling influential women and their stories

New York NY, USA—Wonder Media Network (WMN), an audio-first media company that features underrepresented voices, is shining a light on some of the most influential women in history - and today - throughout Women’s History Month.

When the company launched in mid-2018, its first podcast was Women Belong in the House - inspired by the Congressional campaign of WMN Co-founder and CEO Jenny Kaplan’s mother, Kathy Manning. On the heels of Manning’s primary victory on Super Tuesday in NC-6, season two, hosted by Kaplan, premieres March 12 -- shifting its focus from what it’s like to run for Congress, to what it’s like to be a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Also this month, WMN’s daily show, Encyclopedia Womannica, will feature Feminists as its monthly theme. Having recently passed its 200th episode, Womannica will also celebrate March by expanding from five to seven episodes per week during the month, with female podcasters guest-hosting every Sunday, and “Modern Feminists” featured each Saturday. The Saturday bonus episodes are presented by the show’s new sponsor, Fiverr, which recently announced that its global online marketplace of several hundred thousand freelancers has surpassed gender equity, with average earnings for women 19% higher than for men.

Additionally, Ordinary Equality, WMN’s audio-documentary about the Equal Rights Amendment - which launched earlier this year - continues to have new episodes through March, hosted by human rights attorney Kate Kelly. The series is also currently being featured by Apple Podcasts as part of its Changing the Narrative: Inspiring Women collection.

Other ways in which WMN is celebrating Women’s History Month include:

  • Two panel discussions presented in partnership with M.M.LaFleur (March 19 and 26 at Brookfield Place); and
  • Contributing content to Stitcher’s “Behind the Mic” blog, focusing on women engineers, hosts and producers that are advancing the podcasting space.

All “WMN Presents” originals can be listened to via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher and all popular podcast platforms.
