Jennifer Hudson* (no relation) and Lilian Bayliss** (no relation) consider themselves two of the UK’s best-known columnists, writing such talked-about pieces as, “Who Does Malala Think She Is?”, “What’s The Big Deal About Orgies?” and “If Kate Middleton Wants To Be Accepted, She Needs To Follow These Simple Pointers”.

As they’re currently ‘between columns’ (by ‘mutual agreement’), they’ve been able to devote their energies to the first podcast for women like them.

So here it is – Women Like Us - a podcast that delves into the issues which are most important to women around the world. Or at least, the issues that are most important to Jennifer and Lilian…

Jennifer Hudson says “As a journalist, I want to engage with the things that matter to Women Like Us. Such as, how far can free speech go? Is it ever ok to briefly leave your son unattended in a National Trust property? And most importantly, where’s my money? Join us, because if I can’t get a column in a newspaper anymore, I’ll make a podcast instead.”

Lilian Baylis added “As a veteran broadcaster with an extensive television and voice-over career spanning nearly twenty years, I have always enjoyed a robust friendship with Jennifer. So when she said, ‘shall we do a podcast?’ I only had two questions - ‘when can we start?’ and ‘What’s a podcast?’”.

‘Women Like Us’ will release weekly from 17th July, and will be available in the UK, USA, Australia and all key podcast markets through Apple, Spotify, Acast and all podcast platforms.

It is a Somethin’ Else Production, produced by Ed Morrish.
