Rosenblatt Law launches ‘Winning’ podcast series with guests including Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish
Rosenblatt Law today announces the launch of Winning, a new podcast series hosted by Ian Rosenblatt OBE, Founder and Senior Partner of Rosenblatt Law. The six-part series explores the mindset, strategy, and resilience behind high performance across law, business, sport, and the arts.
The first episode features an intimate and revealing conversation with Steve Parish businessman and Chairman of Crystal Palace Football Club.
Parish shares his extraordinary journey from the printing industry to the Premier League boardroom, offering candid insights and never-before-heard stories. He reflects on his politically charged upbringing as the son of a trade union leader during the Wapping print workers dispute, his unconventional entry into the computer graphics industry at just 18, and the transformation of Tag Worldwide from a small production company into a global advertising services powerhouse.
Having known each other since Parish was 12, Ian Rosenblatt’s long-standing relationship with his guest gives the conversation a rare depth and authenticity.
On innovation, Steve Parish, Chairman of Crystal Palace FC remarks: “Find something you love doing. There’s no amount of perseverance and resilience and stoicism that is going to make you get up every day and do something that you really don’t want to do… “Mercilessly plagiarise other people’s work. You can’t possibly have all the good ideas, so you have to look at what are other people doing.”
The conversation explores Parish’s decision to rescue Crystal Palace from administration in 2010, despite having no formal plan to own a football club long-term. He reveals how feedback from fans transformed his vision from building sustainable infrastructure to actively pursuing silverware, reflecting on the teams FA Cup triumph at Wembley earlier this year.
Parish adds: "I realised it’s all right for me to have this vision for the club… but that’s not why people come to football. They don’t come to watch us being okay. The best thing you can do in football is to win.”
Through the episode, Parish reflects on leading through uncertainty, taking calculated risks, and sustaining success under pressure. He reveals his take on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence and reflects on how that might impact the world of advertising and marketing, where he began his professional journey.
Ian Rosenblatt OBE, Founder of Rosenblatt Law adds: “Steve’s story is about more than football or business success. It’s about finding what you love, questioning the status quo, and never settling for good enough. That’s what the ‘Winning’ series is all about - understanding what makes exceptional people tick.”
