Australian digital audio specialist Whooshkaa is working with Malaysia’s leading radio network, Astro Radio, to launch Asia’s newest multi-lingual audio-on-demand venture.
Whooshkaa’s software will power audio-on-demand across Astro Radio’s award-winning stable of 11 radio brands and its growing library of original podcast content.
With 17.3 million weekly Malaysian listeners in four languages, Astro Radio’s reach has extended regionally via digital streams in China, India, Indonesia and Brunei. Its brands include the digital-led GOXUAN, aimed at ubercool Chinese Gen Z listeners, and ZAYAN, for modern Muslims. It has 19 million social media followers.
General Manager, Digital & Marketing of Astro Radio, Daphne Lourdes, said the media company was expanding beyond traditional airwaves.
“Delivering content in this digital age means engaging with our fans through various interactive platforms that drive talkability and social engagement,” she said.
“Whooshkaa will deliver a whole new range of possibilities with its specialised audio-on-demand software.”
