Snoop Dogg, Walton Goggins, The MeidasTouch Podcast, Norman Teague & More Honored at the 29th Annual Webby Awards
Tonight, the 29th Annual Webby Awards honored the year’s biggest Internet personalities, visionaries, and activists with a star-studded ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. The award show was hosted by award-winning comedian, actor, advocate, and creator Ilana Glazer, and featured hallmark Webby 5-Word Acceptance Speeches from Winners such as Snoop Dogg, Walton Goggins, Questlove, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Marcello Hernández, Dr. Fei-Fei Li, Jake Shane, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, Jools Lebron, The MeidasTouch Podcast, Norman Teague, Caleb Simpson, Chris Klemens, Andrew McCarthy, The Rizzler, and more. Presenters and attendees included Justin Theroux, Kara Swisher, Sean Evans, Molly Jong-Fast, Kenan Thompson, Ice-T, Peppermint, Chris Klemens, and NAACP President & CEO Derrick Johnson, among others.
“Tonight’s theme is ‘All Good’ because the title The Broligarchy’s Speeding of the Onslaught of Facism in the Face of the Climate Catastrophe at the Point of No Return would have bummed everybody out,” joked host Ilana Glazer while welcoming the audience to the Webby Awards and introducing this year’s theme, All Good. Glazer proceeded to delight the audience listing off the good and not-so-good internet trends from the past year. From declaring the need to ban Signal for its organizing of protests and ordering drugs to praising Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked press tour and calling them “angels on earth,” to even admitting her love for Moo Deng, the “real diva” baby pygmy hippo, Glazer’s commentary was met with laughter and excitement for the show’s start as she recognized “creative people leading the culture who are actively making good on the internet.”
Webby Awards Executive Director Jesse Feister, who celebrated his first Webby Awards in this new role, delivered remarks, reflecting on the chaotic state of the Internet in 2025, the importance of recognizing self-made creators, and the critical moment we’re in for AI and creativity. “What I love most about the internet is that it gives talented, self made, creative people a way in. And tonight’s winners are proof of that,” Jesse said of the new emphasis on creators.
Feister also highlighted new Creator categories and recognized voices like Dr. Fei-Fei Li and Norman Teague for their work at the intersection of technology and humanity.
Additional highlights from this year’s ceremony included:
Ice-T presented Snoop Dogg with the Webby Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his work expanding the playbook for how creatives can harness entrepreneurship to amplify their influence, calling out his leadership in the online cannabis industry space, his record label, and more. “Of course, the internet changed the game, but one thing didn’t change: Snoop Dogg. He’s never gonna change, and Snoop is still on top,” said Ice-T when presenting the award. In his acceptance remarks, Snoop Dogg said “Break bread, or fake dead.”
Walton Goggins received the Best Actor Webby Award, presented by Justin Theroux. This recognition was based on Goggin’s performances across streaming hits like The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones, and Fallout, that have transcended the streaming format to influence Internet culture at-large. “Walton’s acting is a masterclass in commitment, nuance, and the rare art of making you laugh, cry, and ask yourself, ‘When does this mother** take a nap?’ said Theroux when presenting the award to Goggins. Goggins humbly accepted his award: “If it happens, be grateful.”
Sean Evans presented Amelia Dimoldenberg with a Webby Special Achievement Award recognizing not only for her work redefining the classic celebrity interview with her hit series Chicken Shop Date (which is commissioned under her production company, Dimz Inc), making it not only a must stop on the biggest celebrity press tours, but also cementing her as an entrepreneurial juggernaut. While accepting her award, Amelia encouraged the audience: “Don’t wait. Make it yourself.”
Kenan Thompson presented Marcello Hernández with a Webby Award for Outstanding Comedic Performance, highlighting his sharp, culturally resonant humor on Saturday Night Live and his viral impact on the Internet, redefining digital comedy for a new generation. “Marcello is a master at connecting with audiences across platforms,” said Thompson when presenting the award. In his acceptance remarks, Hernández listed “Kenan, Mama, Lorne, Domingo, gracias,” counting on his fingers.
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett accepted the Advocate of the Year Webby Award, presented by NAACP President Derrick Johnson, recognizing her use of platforms to drive national conversations, mobilize communities, and champion the rights of marginalized groups across the Internet and beyond. “Only organized outrage overcomes oppression,” declared Congressman Crockett onstage, after receiving the first standing ovation of the night as the crowd erupted in applause.
Peppermint handed out the Webby Crush the Internet Award to Jools Lebron for her unforgettable impact on digital culture and her unmatched talent for creating viral moments —most iconically, “very demure, very mindful.” Peppermint noted the historic impact of Lebron’s content, which led to “demure” being named Dictionary.com’s 2024 word of the year. “Very demure, very successful, period,” Lebron stated.

Also new this year, the Webbys partnered with Adobe to present designer and educator Norman Teague with a Webby Special Achievement in Creative AI.
