Allan McLeod’s Walkin’ About takes a stroll with Maximum Fun
Spring is approaching, the world is overwhelming, and it’s a great time to take a walk. Allan McLeod’s (You’re the Worst, Interior Chinatown) hit podcast, Walkin’ About, joins the employee-owned podcast network Maximum Fun today.
In each episode of Walkin’ About, Allan is joined by a guest in conversations that marry humor with very light cardio, and feature some of the hidden gems of Los Angeles and beyond. Past guests include Andy Richter at the Ferndell Nature Preserve, Lauren Lapkus at the Huntington Botanical Gardens, and Ed Begley, Jr. at Barnsdall Park. The Los Angeles Times featured the show last Fall, calling it “a soundtrack for an L.A. stroll.”
Walkin’ About’s third season begins with an episode featuring Ayden Mayeri (Jackpot!, Mr. Throwback) and a walk through Little Tokyo, while next week’s guest will be Paul Rust (Saturday Night, Love).
“I listen to a lot of podcasts,” says MaxFun C.E.O., Bikram Chatterji, “and I can’t think of anything out today that is quite like Walkin’ About. The combination of a gentle tone, great and funny guests, and a sense of place that comes from recording at street level makes it the perfect escape from many of the things that need escaping these days. At the same time, it’s clear that Allan cares deeply about the show, and about the value of getting people walking. It’s a really special show.”
McLeod adds: “My hope is that listeners feel like they are taking a breezy little stroll with a couple of friends while learning about my guests, and getting a sense of the place we’re exploring. I encourage folks to listen while walking, but of course I welcome people to engage with the show however they want, and maybe be inspired to incorporate a walk into their day.”
Walkin’ About’s third season will run through mid-April, with episodes releasing every Wednesday.
Maximum Fun is a pioneering, employee-owned podcast network, home to The Adventure Zone, Bullseye with Jesse Thorn, Judge John Hodgman, and other beloved shows.
