Two Doting Dads Joins Nova Podcasts
NOVA Entertainment announced today it has further expanded the Nova Podcast Network by welcoming one of Australia’s most successful parenting podcasts, Two Doting Dads.
Hosted by great mates Matthew ‘Matty J’ Johnson and Ash Wicks, Two Doting Dads is a weekly comedy-led parenting podcast that has built a passionate and highly engaged audience since launching in April 2023. Across 247 episodes to date, the pair have created a refreshing space for parents seeking laughs, honesty and the reassurance that nobody really has parenting figured out.
Having bonded in 2022 while creating social media content for their combined audience of more than 1.4 million followers across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, Matty and Ash have since developed a loyal community by embracing the realities of family life. Their podcast celebrates the wins, the fails and the wildly relatable moments that come with raising children, while featuring candid conversations with guest parents, including those raising families in the public eye.
Demonstrating strong market demand ahead of launch, Two Doting Dads has secured OMO and Vegemite as inaugural brand partners, via Mindshare and Starcom Australia respectively. The partnerships underscore the commercial appeal of the podcast’s authentic parenting conversations, with both brands recognising the opportunity to connect with a large, engaged audience of mums, dads and families.
Said Matty J of joining Nova Podcasts, “Ash and I started this podcast because we realised there wasn’t enough honest conversation about what parenting is really like. It’s messy, chaotic, rewarding and hilarious all at once. We’re really excited to join Nova Podcasts, continue growing the show and connect with even more parents around Australia.
“For me, it also feels like coming home. NOVA gave me my first opportunity in radio, so returning feels a bit like walking into your childhood house where everything is familiar, except you’ve got a few more greys, three kids and a chronic sleep deficit.”

Co-host Ash Wicks, added, “The response to Two Doting Dads has been incredible. Parents tell us they feel seen and understood after listening, which is exactly what we hoped for when we started. Joining the Nova Podcasts family is an exciting next chapter, and we’re looking forward to bringing the podcast to even more listeners.
“Nova Podcasts is like the organised parent who has dinner on the table by six, colour-codes the family calendar and never forgets a birthday. We’re more like the rogue uncle who overshares at Christmas and somehow outstays his welcome by three hours. It’s a match made in heaven!”
Two Doting Dads has also earned industry recognition, receiving a shortlist nomination for Best Integrated Campaign for Podcasting at the 2025 AiMCO Awards and a nomination for Best Parenting Podcast at the 2023 Australian Podcast Awards.
NOVA Entertainment’s Network Director of Nova Podcasts, Rachel Corbett, said, "Matty and Ash have built an incredibly engaged community around the show, and that’s not easy to do. Their mix of honesty, vulnerability and comedy has created a podcast that audiences genuinely connect with, because it makes them laugh while also reminding them nobody has this parenting game figured out. We’re thrilled that Two Doting Dads is joining the network and we’re especially excited to welcome Matty back.”
New episodes of Two Doting Dads are released every Tuesday, with bonus episodes every Sunday, and are available on the Nova Player and wherever listeners get their podcasts.
