Trailer Park Announces Three-Part Miniseries Exploring What Makes a Podcast Trailer Effective
Trailer Park: The Podcast Trailer Podcast will release a three-episode miniseries examining what makes a podcast trailer effective. Premiering Friday, August 28th, the series builds on a research study led by Coleman Insights and co-designed by Trailer Park host Arielle Nissenblatt and Coleman Insights Vice President / Research Consultant Jay Nachlis.
The study was conducted in spring 2026 using trailers supplied by participating networks. Initial findings were presented onstage at The Podcast Show in London in May, followed by a public webinar in June. The miniseries completes the project by moving beyond the data to explore how the findings can be applied by podcast creators, marketers, and networks.
The first episode features Nachlis, who joins Nissenblatt to set the scene for the study and explain its methodology. Their conversation examines how the research was designed, how listeners evaluated the trailers, and what creators should understand about survey methodology and research techniques when interpreting the results.
The second episode features Peter Ferioli of Pantheon Podcasts, one of the companies that participated in the study. Pantheon contributed trailers for Binge or Cringe and Superfan Diaries.
The next episode features Rachel Corbett of NOVA Entertainment, which contributed trailers for High Scrollers and Better Than Yesterday.
Across the three episodes, listeners will discover:
- Which trailer elements spur listener intent to continue listening
- What the highest-performing trailers had in common
- Where trailers lose potential listeners and how to avoid those mistakes
- How Pantheon Podcasts and NOVA Entertainment are rethinking future trailers
- How the study was designed and what the data can (and cannot) tell us
- How creators at any level can apply these findings to their next trailer
