‘The Swines’ Trailer: Wonkybot Entertainment Unveils Stewart St John’s Adult Animated Comedy

Press Release · Los Angeles CA, United States ·

Independent studio Wonkybot Entertainment, best known for its award-winning cinematic podcasts heard in more than 170 countries, has released the official trailer for Stewart St John’s adult animated comedy The Swines, premiering November 19 on YouTube.

The trailer marks a major milestone in the studio’s expansion from audio powerhouse to animation innovator, debuting under its newly formed division, Wonkybot Animation. With the animated project comes a podcast tie-in, expanding the studio’s universe while building on its audio storytelling roots – a move that underscores Wonkybot’s mission to bridge its past success with its bold new frontier in visual entertainment.

The new trailer offers a deep dive into the outrageous world of Oinkersfield — a town (and planet) entirely populated by anthropomorphic pigs — and the hilariously dysfunctional family at the heart of it all.

Created, written, and directed by award-winning writer/director Stewart St John, The Swines is a serialized comedy inspired by St John’s own colorful family.

“It’s my way of turning the chaos and love I grew up with into something both universal and completely absurd,” says St John. “It’s satire with heart — and a little oink.”

In addition to the six-episode series and a Swines feature film adaptation now in development, Wonkybot Animation is also planning new projects based on the company’s popular podcasts — Dr. Epicopolis & 1102 and Spooky Troop — as part of Wonkybot’s growing slate of interconnected, creator-owned worlds.

Podnews can also exclusively reveal the artwork from a brand-new, in-character podcast spinoff from one of the series’ characters, Annie Greyhog.

Lipstick On A Pig with Annie Greyhog will debut on the Wonkybot Podcast Channel, shortly after the series premiere of The Swines on YouTube -- marking the first time a podcast character from an animated world continues her story through a real-world podcast – bringing Wonkybot’s storytelling full circle -- from podcast to animation to podcast again.

Unlike traditional series designed solely for long-form viewing, The Swines was conceived from the start as a multi-platform experience. Each episode is structured to live both as a complete story and as a collection of short, shareable moments tailored for YouTube Shorts, Tik Tok, and Instagram Reels – giving audiences a continuous stream of fresh, character-driven clips between episodes.

“It’s a show made for the social-media generation,” says St John. “Fast, funny, and built to live where the audience already is.”

The approach reflects a broader shift toward digital-first commissioning, with Wonkybot embracing the same behavioral and algorithmic insights driving today’s fastest-growing platforms – but applying them through the lens of original, character-driven storytelling.

Set on Hog Heaven Ranch, the story follows ex-Swine Corps vet Jack Swine and his free-spirited wife June as their peaceful life is upended when their Hollywood son Sebastian St. Piggleton (voiced by St John) returns home with his posh partner and a plan to reclaim the land he’s inherited — igniting a family feud of epic, pork-sized proportions.

The trailer showcases the show’s distinctive visual style, which draws directly from St John’s original sketches and drawings, re-imagined by art director Michael Plahuta using a modern pipeline of creative tools. The result rivals big-budget studio productions in both quality and scope while maintaining Wonkybot’s hallmark independence and handcrafted touch.

“YouTube gives us the freedom to build The Swines from the ground up — directly with fans, on our own terms,” says Todd Fisher, Wonkybot co-founder and executive producer. “We’re investing our own time, resources, and heart to prove that a small, independent studio can create something that captures the attention of audiences and partners alike. The trailer is our invitation for the world to join us at the start of the journey.”

The Swines leads the rollout of the broader “Swineverse,” which includes companion books like Lipstick On A Pig: How A Stuck-Up Attitude Can Manifest Your Best Life (October 2025) and The Swines: The Official Guide to Oinkersfield’s Most Outrageous Family (Spring 2026), plus a feature film currently in development for 2026.

Wonkybot Entertainment is repped by Phillip Rosen and Taylor Condit of The Rosen Law Group.

The official trailer is now live on youtube.com/swinesofficial and at Wonkybot.com/TheSwines.
