New podcast 'The Quarter Hour' for news about Australian Radio Industry
Wade Kingsley, an Australian media executive with over 25 years experience in audio is launching a new podcast in 2026 - ‘The Quarter Hour’.
‘The Quarter Hour’ will be a short, sharp 15 minute update on the most important news happening in the radio industry in Australia and internationally.
The format will be both audio and visual - with episodes streamed on YouTube, LinkedIn and to other social media platforms. As a result, the podcast will be fully interactive featuring comments and reactions from those working in the radio industry.
The podcast will commence as a weekly podcast in mid-January 2026, increasing to multiple times a week when required based on the news cycle.
“I want this podcast to be the place where the radio industry has the first conversation about news that breaks - not just reading the headlines”, Wade says.
“We’re aiming somewhere between what a radio news website would briefly report on and what a longer-form podcast would analyse in great depth. ”
“I’ll be talking to leading radio leaders, personalities and consultants across the globe about the biggest stories. Each episode will focus on a single story and what it means for people in the industry. I’m going to make sure this podcast is just as entertaining as a radio program aims to be. ”
As part of the launch ‘The Quarter Hour’ is offering a paid subscription option - where listeners of the podcast can also receive Wade’s more detailed analysis of radio news and events (via Substack).
The name ‘The Quarter Hour’ means two things: how long each episode will be (exactly 15 minutes) and a critical radio listening time measurement. Wade says: “Great radio people know the importance of getting that quarter hour to increase their share. I hope this podcast is seen as just as important for the radio industry. ”
