How did you feel when you turned 30? That’s exactly what the all-new podcast Talk Thirty To Me will discuss in weekly episodes. Fronted by actress and award-winning radio personality Christie Hayes and husband, comedian, TV and radio presenter Justin Coombes-Pearce, Talk Thirty To Me will be hosted, distributed and monetised by the creator-first podcast company Acast as part of the Acast Creator Network.
Talk Thirty To Me is set to be an honest look at one of life’s big milestones and what comes before, with listeners hearing from Christie and Justin as well as their special guests on all the mistakes and life lessons they learned in their 20s. Upcoming guests include Georgia Love, Tammin Sursok, Lola Berry, James Mathieson, Madeleine West, and Rebekah Elmaloglou.
Christie has grown up on Australian TV, most well-known for her 10-year role on Home and Away, and has also appeared on multiple other shows as guest or host — including Studio 10, The Morning Show and The Daily Edition. For her work behind the microphone, Christie won big at the 2018 Australian Commercial Radio Awards, taking home the coveted Best Newcomer On-Air award.
No stranger to the medium, Christie previously co-hosted the podcast Year One for Mamamia, which went on to see immense success as the number one family podcast in Australia at the time.
Justin’s radio industry career spans 20 years, in which time he’s received more than 15 ACRA nominations. According to the host himself, however, he’s “only here because he’s married to Christie.”
Christie Hayes, host of Talk Thirty To Me, said: “Turning 30 is a big life milestone and can often come with a lot of noise about what you’ve done and where you’re heading. We wanted to create Talk Thirty To Me to have open conversations about what we’ve learned along the way and hopefully our listeners can either relate, find reassurance, or learn something from our experiences. We’ll laugh, cry and learn as we talk about why life really does begin at 30.”
Jordon Lott, Acast’s Content Development Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said: “Talk Thirty To Me speaks to millennials in such a relatable way, it’s quickly going to become everyone’s go-to podcast for advice, laughter and connection. While 30 can seem like a scary number, Christie and Justin are providing light at the end of the tunnel for younger millennials like myself — and podcasting is the perfect medium for these conversations, because you just can’t beat the level of engagement it provides.
“Christie and Justin both have plenty of experience in the audio space, and we’re looking forward to making this partnership a success.”
Acast — the podcast company that works with Australia’s biggest shows — will host and distribute Talk Thirty To Me, making it available across all podcast apps and players such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. For advertisers looking to work with the podcast and its hosts, opportunities are available exclusively through the Acast Marketplace.
