Phil Taggart proudly presents ChillDaBeats, dropping every Sunday on Spotify. Launched following Phil’s 10-year career at BBC Radio 1 where he fronted The Chillest Show, ChillDaBeats is part radio show, part podcast. A vital new space for alternative chill, offering support, escape, mindfulness, meditation and community.
Speaking about ChillDaBeats, Phil says: “After developing the Chillest Show at Radio 1, I wanted to delve even further into the world of soft focus selections and create a community where music fans could come for not only choice sounds but also support. ChillDaBeats is the most interactive and grassroots thing I’ve ever been a part of. Every show is made with the ChillDaBeast community in mind. It’s the most proud I’ve ever been making programmes.”
Since launching in December 2020, the show has accrued a dedicated following with its own Discord community, the ChillDaBeasts (which listeners can join here), as well as a range of coveted guests, featuring on each episode as ChillDaBeats’ Soul Food Selectors, recommending three essential tracks. To date, the show has seen appearances from musical icons and exciting new artists alike, including Liam Gallagher, London Grammar, Pale Waves and Sigur Ros, rising stars girlinred and Dodie, as well as acclaimed producers and composers Jon Hopkins, Hannah Peel and Olafar Arnalds.
The new season of ChillDaBeats boasts guests including: Ben Howard, Jungle, Daniel Avery, Holly Humberstone, Greentea Peng, DJ Seinfeld, Rostam, Kero Kero Bonito and more to be announced.
ChillDaBeats offers a weekly mental musical massage, a specially curated chilled out mix of Phil’s trademark approach to music, tasteful cuts, floating beats and explorations into the future. In a hectic world, it’s important to take a moment to focus on yourself and wellbeing, to regenerate and enjoy cathartic sounds.
