LOS ANGELES, CA., November 1, 2021 — Wonkybot Entertainment, the award-winning content company known for creating the best in scripted, cinematic audio shows for audiences around the world, today announced the launch of new scripted series Superhero Confidential, a superhero show for grown-ups that exists in the company’s newly unveiled ‘Tremendous Universe’, a shared universe of shows that includes Wonkybot’s award-winning teen podcast Tara Tremendous. The trailer and first episode of “Superhero Confidential” have dropped and are now available at wonkybot.com and on all major podcast platforms.
“We take enormous pride in the creativity and passion we infuse into our audio series and we are elated to expand upon and connect them all into one huge universe, all from the prolific mind of Tara Tremendous creator Stewart St John,” said Michael Plahuta, producer and co-founder of Wonkybot. “Stewart has spun an incredible web of interconnecting stories that I’m excited for listeners to hear.”
“The concept of Tara Tremendous is that she’s an ordinary girl gifted with the ability to summon powers from a roster of superheroes that Stewart has been creating since childhood,” added Todd Fisher, producer and Wonkybot co-founder. “There are dozens upon dozens of superheroes who’ve been appearing in over three seasons of the Tara Tremendous series, so we thought it was time to start exploring all those wonderful characters.”
“Superhero Confidential” is a short-form daily podcast series revolving around superheroes and other characters in the super community attending virtual therapy sessions with a synthetic robot named A.I.M.E.E. (Artificial Intelligence Molecular Efficiency Entity). Through daily sessions, we get to meet various superheroes in St John’s Tremendous Universe,
In addition to the series being available on all platforms for free, there’s also an ad-free, uncensored version accessible with a subscription to the Wonkybot Channel on Apple Podcasts, while Wonkybot Kids remains the age-appropriate destination hub for shows designed for a younger audience.
“It’s a dream come true to expand the world of Tara Tremendous into the Tremendous Universe,” said veteran kids and family television writer/producer Stewart St John, who is also Wonkybot’s CEO and creator/writer of Wonkybot content. “We’ve been developing several shows that exist within this expanded universe and I’m excited for audiences to hear how they’ll all connect, and look forward to this new push into the world of grown-up superheroes and the amazing stories I can create in that exciting new space!”
Wonkybot was founded in 2015 by television writer/producer Stewart St John, whose credits include Disney’s “Seventeen Again,” ABC’s “Sabrina: The Animated Series” and Fox Kids’ “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.” Along with founding partners Todd Fisher and Michael Plahuta, Wonkybot launched “Tara Tremendous” as its first scripted audios series which hit #1 in Kids & Family on the Apple Podcasts Charts and went on to win the Parents’ Choice Award for “Best Kids Podcast” in 2020. Wonkybot also created and produced two seasons of teen horror series “Origins Unknown,” which recently won the 2021 Webby Honoree Award for “Best Kids Podcast.”
“Stewart’s ability to work fluidly between mediums is an enormous plus for Wonkybot,” added Fisher. “In the same way he was able to adapt the Tara Tremendous podcast into a musical feature film currently being developed by Wonkybot and Marc Platt Productions, he has an incredible knack for quickly identifying the heart of a story and reassembling it for whatever medium is called for. His passion for audio and music certainly pays off in the audio content we produce.”
