Kareem Rahma's Popular Talk Show, SubwayTakes Announces Podcast Launch In Partnership with Talkhouse Network

Press Release · New York, NY, USA ·

Talkhouse Network is thrilled to welcome Kareem Rahma’s SubwayTakes to their incredible roster of shows via an exclusive podcast partnership with the very popular talk show. The partnership is announced today at On Air Fest with a conversation with writer and researcher Matthew Donovan. The SubwayTakes podcast launches with its Uncut format, a long-form video and audio extension of what audiences already know and love, with plans to introduce a variety of podcast formats to create the SubwayTakes multiverse down the line. The first SubwayTakes Uncut episode with guest Hasan Minhaj dropped on digital feeds today.

“We’ve long admired Kareem and Andrew [Kuo, Co-creator and Producer] for their sense of humor and tenaciousness,” says Talkhouse President Ian Wheeler. “We couldn’t be more excited to work with them to continue building on this amazing thing they’ve created.” On his new partnership with Talkhouse, Kareem Rahma adds: “I am excited to spend more time on the train.”

Already earning widespread acclaim across The New Yorker, Harper’s Bazaar, The Guardian, GQ and more, each episode of SubwayTakes Uncut will begin with the traditional “subway take” (each guest offers, and then must defend, an unusual or controversial statement) that fans have come to cherish, followed by a longer form conversation while they continue on the train. As The New York Times best described, “SubwayTakes routinely captures something that the average cry for attention on the internet never does — an actual human being mapping the nonsensical course of a train of thought.” Past guests have included: Olivia Wilde, Troye Sivan, FKA Twigs, John C. Reilly, Tim Walz, Lil Nas X, Ego Nwodim, Gwen Stefani, Jane Goodall, Alexa Chung, Charli XCX, Alex Consani, Ronny Chieng, Hasan Minhaj, Halsey, Jeremy O. Harris, Ilana Glazer and more.
