Studio Ochenta, launches latest Multilingual show: Ochenta Cuentos

Studio Ochenta, a multilingual podcast studio dedicated to raising voices across cultures is launching at LATAM focused version of its hit lockdown podcast, Ochenta Stories, a globally crowd-sourced show from artists, writers, creators and podcasters currently in quarantine.

Ochenta Cuentos brings together eighty 3-5-minute short stories from across Latin America and the Caribbean as well as from Latinos in diaspora around the world. The episodes, produced in bilingual Spanish & English, will answer the prompt: What do you want to hear when this pandemic is over? or “ Que quieren escuchar cuando se acabe esta pandemia?”

Hosted by Ochenta’s Senior fiction producer Maru Lombardo. Lombardo is an award-winning journalist and producer based in Bogota, Colombia.

Creators sent in stories in a variety of formats, including audio fiction, documentaries and interviews. Ochenta’s team has translated the stories to English and provides transcripts for greater accessibility. If you’re interested in participating by contributing a story, the program is currently accepting pitches on a rolling basis for the series here: ochentafiction@gmail.com

Ochenta Cuentos is the latest in the studio’s multilingual projects, after the success of it’s Webby honored flagship fiction show, Mija Podcast around the world this past Spring, the studio is accompanying Euronews with its original podcasts in French and English throughout the year.
