Dublin electricians build award-nominated trade podcast into one of Ireland’s most influential industry platforms

Press Release · Fingal, Ireland ·

Two working electricians from North County Dublin have transformed a side project recorded after work into one of the fastest-growing voices in Ireland’s trade and apprenticeship sector.

Hosted by cousins Stephen Buckley and Keith Delahan, The Stripped Back Podcast began as a simple idea: have honest, straightforward conversations about life in the trades. Less than two years later, the show has grown into a recognised industry platform championing tradespeople, apprenticeships, and small business owners across Ireland.

With more than 100 episodes produced, the podcast has built a loyal and highly engaged audience of electricians, contractors, apprentices, and employers. Its practical, no-nonsense discussions around careers, training pathways, and real-life experiences have helped shine a spotlight on skilled trades at a time when apprenticeship recruitment and industry awareness are critical.

The podcast’s growth has also led to significant industry recognition, including multiple awards and nominations at national podcast awards in the Business/Careers category, along with partnerships, live appearances, and trade event collaborations.

Despite maintaining full-time careers on the tools, Buckley and Delahan continue to expand the platform. Plans for 2026 include a new purpose-built studio, live podcast recordings, and the launch of an in-person trades awards event designed to celebrate excellence across the sector.

What began as two cousins sharing stories has evolved into a staple voice for the Irish trade community, and the hosts say they are only getting started.
