Spreaker Creates First-to-Market Programmatic Ad Quality Technology

Press Release · New York, NY, USA · via Spreaker ·

This article is at least a year old

Spreaker, the global leader in programmatic ad tech, today announced its first-to-market M.A.G.D.A technology to increase quality in programmatic advertising. This unprecedented technology is set to transform programmatic podcast advertising, adding a layer of control to protect content creators.

Ad quality control in programmatic advertising is a highly debated topic within the podcast industry. The possibility to block specific IAB categories from playing on a podcast exists; however, under certain circumstances, when an ad is uncategorized or miscategorized this becomes redundant.

Audioboom is just one company connected to the Spreaker programmatic ad marketplace, and they are clearly impressed with the new M.A.G.D.A technology.

Lance Paterson, the VP of Research at Audioboom, said: "We’ve always worked to bring accuracy, brand safety, and value for podcasting to the fore. When clients and publishers can trust what they’re getting, it improves the whole sales cycle and generates more revenue. This new technology steps up our game ahead of other platforms, gives our partners more reassurance, and our listeners a much more enjoyable experience.

During the 2022 US Midterms, Spreaker worked proactively with Audioboom to clean up the system - introducing M.A.G.D.A technology for all ad spots. The results have been impressive. Misleading or miscategorized ads are now identified and are much more easily traced back to their source partner. Less than ten escaped the first pass of the process during the entire campaign season and were much more readily identified".

M.A.G.D.A technology works by transcribing programmatic ads that go through the Spreaker ad marketplace in real-time. Spreaker has created machine-learning models to auto-categorize ads. In addition, the technology can also detect miscategorized ads. For example, if a political ad is miscategorized as fast food M.A.G.D.A will flag this for rectification.

Spreaker’s new ad quality tech has an endearing story behind its name origin, M.A.G.D.A is an abbreviation for Machine Augmented Guard for Dynamic Advertising. However, Magda is also a member of the Spreaker team. She was the first person to work on ad quality control for the company, and today Spreaker has an entire division dedicated to ad quality spearheaded by Magda herself—the company felt it fitting to name the technology after her.

Spreaker is a multi-faceted podcast platform that provides both independent content creators and established publishers with the tools and support to launch, grow and monetize their podcasts easy and fast. This new solution benefits advertisers and creators alike.
