2nd annual Sports Podcast Festival in Raleigh to feature Split Zone Duo, Ovies & Giglio, and Big Screen Sports

Press Release · Raleigh, NC, USA ·

The Sports Podcast Festival will return to Raleigh, NC on August 23, 2025. The show will once again happen at The Rialto in the city’s historic Five Points District.

Split Zone Duo, hosted by Alex Kirshner, Richard Johnson and Steven Godfrey will serve as headliners. The show’s strong social following and robust subscriber base are a testament to the dedication of their fans. They were selected to be a part of the show, in part, because of their history of successful live events.

Local sports talk icons Ovies & Giglio return for year two. Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio enjoyed a fruitful sports radio career before making the move to digital media in 2023. They were joined on stage at the first Sports Podcast Festival by former North Carolina State Athletic Director Debbie Yow.

The night will be rounded out by Big Screen Sports featuring Kyle Bandujo and Caroline Darney. The show, which regularly focuses on sports movies and sports in movies, will present a live breakdown of the 1991 college football comedy Necessary Roughness with a series of guests to be announced soon.

“I love this year’s lineup,” said Demetri Ravanos, founder and president of September Creative and creator of the Sports Podcast Festival. “We built something really special last year that brought people to the Triangle from as far away as Miami and Albany. It was a great way to start a new tradition for college football’s week 0 and now we have the chance to prove the Sports Podcast Festival has staying power!”

Homefield Apparel returns this year as the event’s official apparel sponsor. The brand will make an exclusive long sleeve t-shirt that can only be purchased at the show. Homefield will also sponsor the Sports Podcast Festival’s official after party.

Tickets for the Sports Podcast Festival go on sale May 9 through eTix at noon Eastern. General admission tickets are $59. There will also be a ticket option that allows fans to reserve the Homefield shirt.
