Award-winning Canadian scripted comedy Sorry About The Murder returns for Season 3 this Canada Day

Press Release · Toronto ON, Canada ·

There’s no better way to celebrate Canada Day than with another murder.

The acclaimed scripted comedy podcast Sorry About The Murder invites listeners back to the nice little Canadian town of Beavermount, Ontario. Where every day, Frenchie the Zamboni driver must solve a grisly murder to clear his Québecois name…and the ice for the nightly hockey game.

Part cozy mystery, part absurdist comedy, Sorry About The Murder has become a favourite with audio fiction fans for its sharp writing, cinematic sound design, and affectionate skewering of Canadian culture. Since its debut, the series reached #1 on Canada’s fiction charts, earned multiple international awards, and was named as a Podcast Of The Week in The Guardian.

“Canadians are this weird combination of politeness and violence,” says creator, writer and director Drew Frohmann. “Growing up in small town Northern Ontario, a murder mystery seemed a great way to celebrate all these funny Canadian quirks.”

In Season 3, Frenchie must dive into the murky depths of old Beavermount grudges to try and solve the murder of Greg “Greggy” Sullivan, while avoiding the wrath of vengeful townsfolk, angry loggers, and marauding Canada Geese.

New episodes debut July 1st, Canada Day on all major podcast platforms.
