Sony Music Entertainment unveils robust podcast slate and high-powered lineup of stars at 2020 IAB Podcast Upfront

New York NY, USA—Building on its long legacy of leadership in audio entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment today unveiled a robust slate of new podcast content and showcased several of its high-profile stars across the company’s growing podcast roster during its first-ever IAB Podcast Upfront presentation.

The company, which will launch nearly 40 new shows this year, closed out the first day of presentations by showcasing its strong network of creative partnerships, vast global presence and commitment to amplifying some of podcasting’s most exciting and diverse voices to listeners around the world.

A number of leading podcast creators presented new and upcoming projects. Actor David Tennant highlighted some of the biggest names featured on the current season of David Tennant Does a Podcast With, including Jim Parsons, Judi Dench, and Dan Levy. Academy-Award winning writer-producer-director Adam McKay discussed two of his upcoming podcast projects: a show about the historical and political forces that defined basketball in the 1980s and a new podcast featuring YouTuber Ari Cagan. Sportscaster and NFL sideline reporter Lindsay Czarniak previewed a new music and sports crossover podcast she is hosting early next year. Sony Music Entertainment also introduced My 90s Playlist, a new music-themed podcast hosted by Tracy Clayton and Akoto Ofori-Atta that will celebrate the music of the not-so-distant past.

Sony Music also revealed that it plans to release a wide range of other new shows across multiple genres in the coming months, including podcasts exploring themes of true crime, politics, current events, music and social and racial justice.
