New podcast Someone’s Hunting Us is the story of a serial killer you’ve never heard of and the women who took him down
The team behind the hit podcast Father Wants Us Dead is back with a gripping new series,Someone’s Hunting Us, that’s part investigation, part thriller.
In 2016, a serial killer was preying on Black women and girls he thought no one would miss — and getting away with it. Police in New Jersey never suspected that Khalil Wheeler-Weaver, a clean-cut young man from a law enforcement family, was stalking the streets and dating apps for his next target. But they should have. Friends offered clues. A woman barely escaped the killer but was dismissed as a liar. In the end, a victim’s loved ones took matters into their own hands.
Deeply reported, heartfelt and bingeable, Someone’s Hunting Us immerses listeners in the story with audio of key moments — including body camera footage, tape of the killer’s hours-long interrogation and even secret recordings of Wheeler-Weaver being catfished by brave young women.
Someone’s Hunting Us is reported and hosted by Daysi Calavia-Robertson, an award-winning columnist whose work centers on New Jersey’s diverse communities of color, and Rebecca Everett, an investigative reporter covering crime and justice.
