Sci-fi podcast gets promotion in the cinema
Where better to share a movie for the ears than… a movie theater?
From September 12 - September 25, the award-winning, sci-fi podcast Solar starring Helen Hunt, Alan Cumming and Stephanie Beatrice was featured in trailers running at all locations of Maya Cinemas, bringing podcast promotion to the big screen in an innovative cross-platform marketing strategy.
Here’s one of the two trailers, played as movie-goers settled down to watch.
A Solar poster was also displayed in all Maya theatre lobbies, including a QR code driving to the podcast’s landing page.
The Maya Cinemas / CurtCo Media promo represented a creative approach to podcast discovery, introducing Solar to moviegoers in an immersive environment traditionally reserved for movie trailers and other types of advertising.
