Scottish Podcast Awards announce categories as entries open
Entries are now officially open for the inaugural Scottish Podcast Awards - with twenty three different categories spanning multiple genres.
The brand-new national awards programme will take place at a glitzy ceremony in Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket on June 25 to celebrate excellence, creativity and innovation in Scotland’s rapidly growing podcasting scene.
Independent creators and community-led shows are invited to enter alongside major production teams from now until March 9. Shortlisted nominees will be announced in early May.
The Scottish Podcast awards aim to champion the full breadth of podcasting talent.
Categories span multiple genres-including entertainment and pop culture, business to business, news and politics, comedy, Gaelic, sport and more, as well as Emerging Talent and Listeners Choice. Both audio-first podcasts and video podcasts are eligible, provided they meet the entry criteria
International entries are also warmly welcomed to podcasters from outside Scotland. This category ensures international creators are judged alongside their peers, while keeping the core awards focused on Scottish talent.
The latest news follows last week’s confirmation of Go Radio as Official Media Partner, supporting the Scottish Podcast Awards in amplifying entries, finalists and winners across all its platforms.
Rochelle Clemente, Managing Director at Go Radio, said: “We are thrilled to join The Scottish Podcast Awards as Official Media Partner.
“Scotland’s podcasting scene is rich with creativity, originality, and passion, and Go Studios was created to give those voices a world-class platform. We’re excited to shine a spotlight on the brilliant talent being recognised this year.”
Scottish Podcast Awards Founder Corrinne Gardiner added: “We’re incredibly excited to launch the first ever Scottish Podcast Awards. Podcasting in Scotland is thriving, and these awards are about recognising the talent, originality and hard work that goes into creating brilliant shows.
“Whether you’re an established producer or a first-time podcaster, we want to hear from you.”
