Research call - collaboration with creators for next-generation podcasting

Press Release · York England, UK ·

This article is at least a year old

This research project concerns the future of podcasting and exploring new ways to produce and listen to podcasts. Its aim is to collect opinions and ideas from podcast creators to inform the future development of one or more AI-driven tools for podcasting and/or podcasts projects.

The participants will be asked questions regarding their work and views on current and future podcasting, and prompted to react to a set of new technologies and concepts which could be used to create new types of podcasts. They will also be able to register interest in further creative collaboration surrounding this project.

The researcher conducting this study is Jemily Rime, a PhD Student in the Department of Music at the University of York, in partnership with XR Stories and the BBC R&D, with supervisors Dr. Tom Collins (Lecturer (Assistant Professor), University of York), Dr. Chris Pike (Lead Engineer, BBC R&D) and Catherine Robinson (Technical Producer, BBC). If you are a podcast creator interested in participating, you are encouraged to contact her at jir506@york.ac.uk for more details.
