Time to listen to Reason - a new podcast app with comments and community
This article is at least a year old
Tech start-up Reason FM have recently designed and brought to life a platform for the podcasting community. They have rebranded from the original business name of 'Syncify’ to align with their business goals of creating more intelligent conversations and being a voice of Reason in the media landscape.
The innovative team have built a mobile application, available on both App Store and Google Play, alongside the web platform. It allows users to go beyond simply streaming podcasts. Listeners can now engage with others around content and explore the ever-growing world of podcasting with friends.
“Creating media about ourselves isn’t social, instead we should be social around media” - Sam Harris, CEO
In-app functions include liking, sharing, tagging and commenting on content. The app also provides a platform for content creators to promote their shows and interact directly with listeners. Think social media, but with revised core values. Reason aims to help build genuine discussion and human connection through podcasts.
App co-founders Sam Harris and Klaas Foppen went through the prestigious London based Techstars accelerator programme, a venture builder set up to support young companies with promising missions. Very few businesses are successful in gaining funding through this, but last year Reason was one of them.
Since then, the founders have worked relentlessly with the rest of the team through the pandemic to develop, learn and grow to become who they are today. A small company aiming to make a big dent in the podcasting world.
Overall, the team’s ambition is to use technology for good by making podcasting an accessible and social experience for everyone.
