Chicago IL, USA—Soundington Media is proud to announce the release of our second podcast for middle grade audiences, REACH: A Space Podcast for Kids.
REACH: A Space Podcast for Kids is a weekly, family friendly exploration of our galaxy (and beyond!) with hosts Brian Holden and Meredith Stepien (of the wildly popular musical theatre company Team Starkid). Built for kids and based on questions from kids, Reach educates with entertaining segments, fun at-home experiments, and interviews presented in association with subject matter experts & thought partners from leading institutions like the Adler Planetarium (and many more).
REACH: A Space Podcast for Kids is co-created and produced by Sandy Marshall (Solar System Ambassador for NASA JPL; Actor on PBS’ Odd Squad) and Nate DuFort (Creator, Unspookable) who say “we wanted to create a show for middle grade audiences full of the hope and wonder we experienced with the space program in our youth.” According to Marshall, “Learning about space boosts curiosity, creativity, and leads to finding an unexpected beauty and appreciation of our home planet. With Reach, we’re hoping to show the world’s emerging scientists, learners, and dreamers that anything is possible.” DuFort adds “It is also incredibly important for us, in these times, to call attention to the ethics of space exploration and STEM, and the larger questions that arise when we look at our world and those beyond our reach.”
REACH: A Space Podcast for Kids officially launched June 16th everywhere you get podcasts, with a season full of topics answering the questions “What is space,?” “How do you survive in space?,” and “How do you become an astronaut?” and featuring exciting experts from Adler Planetarium and more with special guests from the world of entertainment and children’s media such as Marc Evan Jackson (NBC’s The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) , Morgan Givens (Flyest Fables) , Janet Varney (The Legend of Korra, Voyage to the Stars), Dania Ramos (Timestorm from Cocotazo Media and PRX), Gary Jones (Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis) and Darren Criss (Glee, American Crime Story).
