Radiotopia from PRX Welcomes “Proxy” from Yowei Shaw, “Never Post” hosted by Mike Rugnetta, and “Selects” to the Network

Pulitzer-finalist podcast network Radiotopia from PRX today announced three new podcasts joining the network, including Never Post hosted by Mike Rugnetta, the emotional investigative show, Proxy with Yowei Shaw, and an ongoing compendium of audio masterworks, Selects, created by Room Tone and hosted by Mitra Kaboli.
Also this spring, Hrishikesh Hirway of Song Exploder releases a new conversational series, Key Change, and Normal Gossip from Defector Media will be hosted by Rachelle Hampton. The political history talk show This Day in Esoteric Political History will also present topical historical perspectives under the banner of This Day with new episodes hosted by Jody Avirgan, Kellie Carter Jackson, and Nicole Hemmer.

Trailer Available now - Never Post hosted by Mike Rugnetta (new episodes every other Wednesday) - An engrossing magazine show of interviews, reporting, and roundtables, host Mike Rugnetta guides listeners through why the Internet (and the world) is the way it is. Episodes delve into a range of topics, such as eulogies for online spaces, the ramifications of ‘influencer voice,’ surveilling friends, and what it’s like to be an artist or critic online. Never Post is produced by Rugnetta (PBS Idea Channel), Peabody-winning producer Hans Buetow (Still Processing), researcher Audrey Evans, Jason Oberholtzer (I Love Charts), and Georgia Hampton. The podcast launched in January 2024 from Charts & Leisure and was named one of today’s best podcasts by The Atlantic.

Available now -Key Change hosted by Hrishikesh Hirway (new episodes on the last Wednesday of each month) - Song Exploder podcast creator Hrishikesh Hirway introduces a new conversation series about the transformational power of music in people’s lives. On Key Change––available in the Song Exploder podcast feed––Hirway interviews notable individuals about a song that changed them in a fundamental way. Guests include actress Sophie Thatcher (Companion) on how Elliott Smith’s “Waltz #1,” Hanif Abdurraqib (A Little Devil in America) on The Clash’s “Lost in the Supermarket”, and comedian James Acaster on “Hey Ya” by Outkast. Song Exploder will also continue to release episodes every other Wednesday, with musicians taking apart their songs to tell the story of how they were made. Available now - Selects, created by Room Tone and hosted and executive produced by Mitra Kaboli (new free installments on the third Wednesday of each month) - Selects launched as a subscription channel in April 2024, offering a curated collection of canonical works in audio storytelling updated with exclusive shows every month. For $2.99 per month, subscribers have full access to the curated collection and bonus interviews with the creators. Selects will now also include a podcast available free across all podcast platforms, featuring works from the collection and hosted by acclaimed documentarian Mitra Kaboli (Welcome to Provincetown). The first episode of the free Selects podcast will feature “Call NOW!” by Sean Cole, formerly of This American Life. The subscription channel recently published Kelly McEvers’ 2010 war correspondent documentary “Diary of a Bad Year” as well as Ross Sutherland’s 2016 dark comedy fictional work “S.E.I.N.F.E.L.D.” and will next publish the “American Icons” series from influential arts show Studio 360.
