QCODE expands into unscripted podcasts

Press Release ·

This article is at least a year old

QCODE, a premium leading content studio and podcast network that rose to prominence with award-winning scripted fiction podcasts such as Blackout with Rami Malek and Dirty Diana with Demi Moore, today announced that they are expanding their slate to now include unscripted podcasts. As part of the announcement, they will premiere Crime Scene Queens, a comedic true crime podcast, on August 15th; relationship advice podcast Jillian on Love; and a comedy improv show coming this fall. Additionally, QCODE has brought the educational entertainment series Tooth and Claw to the network, as well the pop culture commentary podcast series The Afternoon Special, hosted by content creator and pop culture buff Bobbi Miller, both of which are now available. QCODE Podcasts are available at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and wherever podcasts are available.

“At QCODE, we’re always looking to empower new voices to tell original stories in new formats,” said QCODE Chief Strategy Officer Steve Wilson. “We’re thrilled to announce our expansion into unscripted, always-on talk podcasts and can’t wait for listeners to hear these shows.”

The unscripted podcast series from QCODE will include:

Tooth & Claw: True Stories of Animal Attacks
    Tooth and Claw
From: Wes Larson, Jeff Larson, Mike Smith | QCODE
    Hosted by: Megaphone

Tooth and Claw features true stories of the most extreme wild animal attacks ever documented, told and explained by Wes Larson, a wildlife biologist and animal behavior expert. Wes is joined by his brother Jeff and their mutual friend Mike, and in each episode the three pour over the details of animal attacks and explain how listeners can avoid these kinds of dangerous encounters, and learn a new appreciation for the wild things of the world. Tooth and Claw is available now at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and wherever podcasts are available.

Made for true crime fanatics, Crime Scene Queens sets the record straight and dives into the science of true crime obsession. Hosts and real-life forensic experts Laura and Shelly are here to curb the CSI effect and explain what really goes down at the scene. Settle in and get ready for unfiltered, fact-based banters that go beyond the who, what, when, where, and why of true crime. Laura has been working in crime scene investigation since 2010. She currently works in forensic training and is a professor of crime scene investigation in Florida. In addition to having worked in the legal field for over 20 years, Shelly volunteers her time on crime scenes and teaches crime scene investigation plus courtroom testimony for law enforcement and forensic professionals. Crime Scene Queens premieres Monday, August 15th with weekly 45 minute episodes.

  • Jillian on Love Jillian on Love teaches listeners how to have healthier and more fulfilling romantic relationships. Whether you’re in a relationship, single, or recently heartbroken, this show will help you change the way you show up for and within your love life. But most of all, it is designed to help you transform the relationship you have with yourself. Jillian Turecki is a certified relationship coach, teacher and writer who for 20 years has guided others on journeys toward fulfilling relationships. Learn skills on how to strengthen the relationship you’re in, how to heal your heartbreak and choose better partners, how to build a stronger sense of self, and how to move away from dysfunctional patterns into highly functioning ones. Jillian on Love premieres Wednesday, September 7th with weekly episodes.

  • The Afternoon Special The Afternoon Special is a podcast hosted by your friend who knows just a little bit too much about pop culture, Bobbi Miller. Fans already love Bobbi’s takes on all things movies and TV on the Internet, including on her popular TikTok account, The Afternoon Special. Every Wednesday, Bobbi takes deep dives into everything in pop culture that you never knew to ask about, but now need the answer to. Whether it’s gushing over Emmy nominees, diving into a 20 year retrospective of the greatest film ever (Scooby Doo (2002)), or combing over all the tiny details you might’ve missed in Jordan Peele’s summer blockbuster, Nope, you are guaranteed to embark on a fun pop culture journey every week. The Afternoon Special returns for a new season in September 2022.

  • As-Yet-Untitled Monster Comedy Improv Show Veteran comedy podcasters Adal Rifai (Hello from The Magic Tavern) and Katelyn Hempstead will come together later this year for an as-yet-untitled monster comedy improv show. The show takes place in the Pacific Northwest where every monster, every cryptid, every urban legend, everything that goes bump in the night, all live together in peace and harmony. Well, more or less. In the shadowy riverfront of Spokane, Washington, you’ll find a thriving mini-metropolis of supernatural creatures and the two best friends who’ve sworn to help them solve their problems - no matter how petty. Whether it’s a Sasquatch trying to find a date, a Mummy who lost her evil amulet while rollerblading, or helping the Mongolian Death Worm pursue its dreams, half-vampire Daniel Pier and full-werewolf Claire Dermond will stop at nothing to help their community. Along the way we’ll meet Claire and Daniel’s friends and nemeses in the cryptid community, the government agents who try to keep their work under wraps, and a wide cast of characters. The new show launches in Fall of 2022 and is a co-production between QCODE and its unscripted vertical, Wood Elf Media. Wood Elf launched in 2021 and specializes in talent-driven content from online influencers and genre-focused personalities and is home to Distractible, Go! My Favorite Sports Team and Bigfoot Collectors Club.

QCODE is an entertainment company most known for its original scripted fiction podcasts. With the expansion into talk podcasts they are focusing on content in edutainment, comedy & culture, and self improvement.
