PRX Announces Jason Saldanha to Succeed Kerri Hoffman as President and CEO
Leading public media organization PRX today announced its COO, Jason Saldanha, will succeed Kerri Hoffman as president and CEO beginning October 15, 2026. Hoffman has led the public radio distributor, podcast publisher, and mission-driven engine for innovation and content creation for more than a decade and will remain strategically involved with PRX.
"The greatest privilege of my time at PRX has been working alongside extraordinary people who believe that great ideas can come from anywhere. We’ve built a culture that trusts talented people, gives them room to create, and stands beside them as they bring ambitious work to others’ lives,” said Hoffman. “As I look ahead, I believe that how a leader plans for the future matters. One of my most important responsibilities now is to hand the baton to our talented COO Jason Saldanha, who represents the ideal leader for public media both today and tomorrow. I have complete confidence that PRX and our meaningful work will continue to grow.”
“I’ve had the privilege of a front-row seat to what Kerri has built at PRX, and I’m grateful for her trust in handing me the baton so thoughtfully,” said Saldanha. “In this pivotal moment for all of us––public media and the communities we reach––we’re committed to difference-making content, technology innovation to grow our service, and shared purpose with extraordinary partners. I’m excited by the opportunity ahead and am honored to lead PRX’s next chapter alongside a remarkable team.”
Kerri Hoffman joined PRX in 2003 and served on the leadership team for more than two decades, including as CEO beginning in 2016. During her tenure, PRX has grown from an early innovator in digital public media into a top content distributor and system-wide technology provider. Hoffman played key leadership roles in the debut of landmark public radio shows including The Moth Radio Hour and Reveal, the launch of the pioneering podcast network for indies, Radiotopia, and in building a community hub for producers via PRX’s Podcast Garage. Under Hoffman’s tenure, through Peabody and Pulitzer-winning partnerships, PRX has distributed more than $200 million to PRX’s content partners which include both independent producers and fellow nonprofit media organizations. Hoffman led PRX’s transformative merger with Public Radio International in 2018, has steered industry adoption of PRX’s suite of distribution and monetization technologies, and currently serves on the board of Public Media Infrastructure, a nonprofit co-founded by PRX to forge public radio’s next era of infrastructure.
PRX’s COO since 2024, Jason Saldanha has held leadership roles at the organization since 2019 spanning business development and production, revenue, organizational strategy, and content, which has included recent partnerships with the signature social sciences program Hidden Brain and investigative news organization ProPublica. Prior to PRX, Saldanha helped steer the Chicago Humanities Festival, the iconic event series connecting the people and ideas that define us. A 2022 Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program fellow at Columbia Journalism School, Saldanha brings experience across broadcast radio, podcasting, digital media, and live events. He’s also served in key roles at Chicago Public Media/WBEZ as an early producer for the seminal music podcast Sound Opinions, as an executive producer for the Cannes Lion-winning creative agency Campfire, and as a two-time juror for the Tribeca Festival, among other industry-spanning accomplishments.
"Kerri has served as a transformational leader not only for PRX, but public radio,” said Ashton Peery, chair of PRX’s board of directors. “We have full confidence that with Jason’s leadership, PRX will continue to drive innovation in public media and impact among stations, producers, and listeners everywhere.”
