Cooper joins PRX as Director of Audience Growth and Marketing. Cooper brings years of experience in mission-driven media, including at New York Public Radio--where she built membership and engagement initiatives for podcasts including Radiolab, On the Media, Nancy, and Death, Sex & Money--and at film and television producer Show of Force. At PRX, Cooper will oversee audience growth and marketing to develop strategies extending the reach of PRX’s programming as well as the Radiotopia podcast network.
“Charlotte brings considerable experience growing podcasts and the communities around them,” said Donna Hardwick, Chief Marketing Officer at PRX. “We’re thrilled she’s joined our growing marketing team at PRX and can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes.”
“PRX has defined themselves through an expansive definition of public media and a commitment to ensuring content is available to all,” said Cooper. “I’m delighted to join this team and to help an ever-growing listening audience find reporting and storytelling that will bring them joy and enrich their lives.”
Also announced today: beginning August 12, as Content Director, Saldanha will oversee key PRX broadcast productions and podcasts in addition to the PRX Remix streaming and broadcast service. Saldanha will also lead content partnership with organizations including the Smithsonian Institution and help develop content with WGBH in Boston, among others.
With more than a decade of national programming, digital, and live event experience, Saldanha comes to PRX from The Chicago Humanities Festival, where he oversaw the production of more than 130 live events across the city each year and where his team achieved pace-setting revenue and audience participation. Formerly Executive Producer of Sound Opinions, the music and talk show from WBEZ, Saldanha has also served as Managing Producer for the award-winning radio drama for Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle and as Producer for the podcast How to Be Amazing with Michael Ian Black.
“Jason brings an incredible range of experience to our content team as we develop fresh programming and scale our audience engagement efforts alongside partners aligned with public media values,” said John Barth, Chief Content Officer at PRX. “We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
"I’m excited to join the team at PRX,” said Saldanha. “I believe PRX represents the vanguard of audio producers, creators, and distributors in the world today.”
