Podster secures book deal for 'The World’s Wackiest Bandits'

Press Release ·

The Danish podcast company Podster is taking an exciting step into the publishing world with its first book release in collaboration with JP/Politikens Forlag. The children’s book is based on Podster’s original podcast ‘The World’s Wackiest Bandits’. The book is set to be released in Denmark on November 1, 2024.

Earlier this year, Podster’s original children’s podcast The World’s Wackiest Bandits was launched on the Danish audio and book streaming service Saxo. The podcast quickly rose to the top of the charts and received excellent reviews from listeners. The World’s Wackiest Bandits features stories about the smartest, dumbest, most charming and strangest criminals. Each episode delivers fun and child-friendly tales of bank robberies, prison escapes, fraud and more. The acclaimed show is penned by Danish author Thomas Brunstrøm, known for the popular children’s book series about Sally’s Dad.

Now, Podster is set to adapt The World’s Wackiest Bandits into a book format. The book is scheduled for release in Denmark on November 1. Podster specialises in adapting local podcasts to international formats and distributing content across borders. With this first physical book release, Podster is proving that content can transcend not only geographical borders but also media formats. This move supports the growing trend of consuming content across multiple platforms.

“We are thrilled to present The World’s Wackiest Bandits as our first book release and look forward to reaching even more people with our stories.”

The agreement between JP/Politikens Forlag and Podster marks an extended collaboration with JP/Politikens Hus, which owns both JP/Politikens Forlag and the streaming platform and online bookstore Saxo. Both partners are pleased with this new phase in their partnership.
