Announcing PodFest Cairo 2024
CAIRO, EGYPT – Mark your calendars for the fourth edition of PodFest Cairo, on Saturday, 2 March 2024 at The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) Tahrir Cultural Campus (TCC) in the historic Oriental Hall. AUC’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JRMC) hosts the event. Attendees and media crews must show a photo ID to enter campus.
The PodFest Cairo 2024 keynote speaker is Latif Nasser, co-host of Radiolab. He will speak about his journey in audio storytelling. Additionally, community building through audio will be the topic of discussion for Jasmin Bauomy who will also speak at PodFest Cairo. She is a senior podcast producer and audio journalist for TRZ Media, which is based in Berlin. She is also an alumna of AUC and JRMC.
The half-day conference, from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m., will bring local and international audio creators together with podcast listeners for a day of knowledge sharing about planning audio interviews, working with audio dramas and audiobooks, and more. Kim Fox, PodFest Cairo’s founder and organizer, says “We’re excited to have this annual opportunity to network and listen to great audio content.”
