Announcing PodFest Cairo 2021-Virtual

Mark your calendars for Egypt and Africa’s first podcasting conference, PodFest Cairo 2021-Virtual, on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 7-9 p.m. EET/Cairo via Zoom and live streamed on the PodFest Cairo Facebook page. The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JRMC) is sponsoring the event.
The conference brings together podcast listeners and creators to discuss all things podcasting. Kim Fox, the conference founder and organizer, says the purpose of PodFest Cairo “is to cultivate the podcasting community in Cairo and Egypt and to grow the podcast production output in the MENA region.”
PodFest Cairo 2021’s virtual keynote speaker is Linah Mohammad, an associate audio producer from The Washington Post “Post Reports” podcast. She will discuss the power of podcasts.
Additionally, this year’s virtual conference will focus on several new Egyptian podcasters, Arabic narratives as well as the implementation of a speed networking session.
