Best Portuguese podcasts announced

Podes, the only Portuguese podcast festival, took place from 2 to 7 November, offering live shows, panels, webinars and the Podes awards, for the best Portuguese podcasts.

The festival closed on Sunday evening, in a live ceremony that celebrated a slow return to attended events and face-to-face interactions in this third edition.

The awards process started in September, when a free registration was open for all podcasts. At the same time, open submission was available for the People’s choice award, which ran until 15 October.

After registration was closed, shortlists were created for each category, according to the criteria set in the regulations, and a jury of 13 members was tasked with selecting 5 nominees and 1 winner for each prize. The Best Podcast was also chosen out of all the category winners. In 2021, the Voices Award was introduced, for podcasts promoting diversity and inclusion:
