PodcastPilot opens testing: multicam podcast recording for Mac that delivers a finished, synced timeline for Premiere, Resolve and Final Cut
Video People, a Danish AV integrator specializing in podcast and video studios, today opens testing of PodcastPilot: a macOS app that records multicam video podcasts in broadcast quality and automatically hands the editor a fully organised timeline for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.
Video has become podcasting’s default format, and professional podcast studios are one of the AV industry’s fastest-growing segments. But while recording has become accessible, post-production still burns the hours: syncing cameras and audio tracks, organising footage, recreating the live cut.
“We’ve built studios for clients for years and seen the same pattern every time: the recording takes an hour, and then the editor spends another hour just getting started. PodcastPilot removes that step. You hit stop, open the project file, and everything is in sync: cameras, audio tracks, markers, and the live cut itself as an editable timeline.” - Mathias Nielsen, founder, Video People
Broadcast engineering under the hood
PodcastPilot records every camera as an individual ISO file in ProRes, HEVC or H.264 with guaranteed constant frame rate and embedded timecode, and every microphone as clean 24-bit Broadcast WAV, mono or stereo. Cameras connect via SDI (Blackmagic DeckLink), NDI over the network, or USB.
During the recording the producer switches the program live, drops named markers with a single keystroke, and can fire a frame-accurate sync slate across every track. Marked highlights are delivered as a pre-cut vertical 9:16 sequence, ready for social media, and the whole rig can be driven from a Stream Deck via Bitfocus Companion.
Testing and availability
PodcastPilot runs on any Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 14 or later. Testers get a free 3-month license in exchange for honest feedback; sign up at podcastpilot.app. The commercial price is €69/month (€690/year) with a 14-day free trial. Video People also partners with AV integrators and resellers on complete studio solutions with PodcastPilot at the core.
