A new chapter in podcasting – the step-by-step guide that explains Podcasting 2.0 in layman terms

Press Release ·

Releasing on January 1st 2025, Podcasting 2.0 in Practice is a step-by-step guide to modern podcasting technologies that answers the questions:

  • What is the feature?
  • How can it enhance my listening or podcasting experience?
  • How do I do it?

With an emphasis on the benefits that can be gained for both listener and creator, this course-style podcast will explain how new podcast features – such as transcripts, chapters and podroll – can help podcasters with discovery, interactivity, and monetization, and help listeners to support and contribute to the success of their favourite shows.

Host Claire Waite Brown has invited expert guests to tell her all about their favourite new features, but she expects you to do some of the work too, with ‘homework’ episodes that show you how to implement the features and start using them to:

  • Grow your show
  • Improve listener experience
  • Help other podcasters . . .
  • . . . and more.

You can also earn imaginary extra credit by listening around the subject, with episodes that consider why these enhancements came about and what we can expect to see in the future.

Guest experts include:

  • Ellie Rubinstein: Pocket Casts
  • Sam Sethi: TrueFans
  • Jordan Blair: Buzzsprout; Buzzcast; Dreamful
  • James Cridland: Podnews.net
  • Sarah Ferris: Conning the Con; Stop the Killing; Watching Two Detectives
  • Daniel J. Lewis: The Audacity to Podcast
  • David and Leila Medus: Fun Fact Friday; Everything’s an Argument
  • Dave Jackson: School of Podcasting
  • Danny Brown: Captivate; In and Around Podcasting
  • Oscar Merry: Fountain.fm

Episodes will be released weekly in groups to complete your learning on one feature at a time, starting January 1st 2025.
