Podcasthon passes 1,000 registrations for 2027, more than four months before the event

Press Release · Montreal, Canada ·

More than 1,000 podcasts have registered for the 2027 edition of Podcasthon, the annual event in which podcasters each dedicate one episode to a charity of their choice and release it during the same week. The organisers hope to approach, and then pass, the symbolic mark of 5,000 registered podcasts, whatever the size of their audience.

The registrations come from 52 countries and territories, across the event’s four languages: English (350), French (320), Spanish (180) and German (150). About half of the shows registered so far were not registered for the 2026 edition. They heard about Podcasthon through direct outreach, social networks and word of mouth. They are all featured on our 4 websites, one per language.

“A charity rarely gets 30 minutes or more of anyone’s full attention, and a podcaster can give it exactly that. Our job now is to make Podcasthon last, which is why the new partners joining us this year matter so much.” - Jeremie Mani, co-founder and co-president of Podcasthon

Several new partners have joined Podcasthon this year. They will be announced one by one in the coming weeks. The event is run by a small team and volunteers, and it is also looking for sponsors to help secure its future.

Registration is free and remains open: a podcaster can sign up as long as they can publish their episode by 19 March 2027, at https://www.podcasthon.org/register

The 2026 edition drew more than 2,800 registered podcasts from 65 countries.
