National Trust to feature on Podcast Radio

Podcast Radio has announced a new content partnership with the National Trust where the station will feature podcasts about backpacking, cycle touring, walks, hikes and heritage houses.
The National Trust is Europe’s largest conservation charity and looks after Britain’s nature, history and beauty.
Gerry Edwards, CEO of Podcast Radio, says: “We’re really excited to be featuring some of the National Trust’s rich podcast content. The National Trust podcasts tell wonderful stories and are beautifully produced and we’re proud to have them on Podcast Radio.”
The partnership came about because of the National Trust seeing and meeting Podcast Radio at the Podcast Show in London in May.
Podcast Radio is the world’s only radio-formatted platform that plays and talks about podcasts 24/7 and uses the familiarity and trust people have in radio to help them discover and choose podcasts.
Part of the National Trust partnership includes interviews by one of Podcast Radio’s podjocks - US broadcast veteran Gene Baxter, a 30-year veteran of the KROQ morning show in Los Angeles. He will talk to the people behind the scenes in the making of the podcasts.
Michelle Douglass, Senior Podcast Producer at the National Trust says: “We’re really pleased to be working with Podcast Radio to showcase some of our favourite episodes and point listeners to our huge back catalogue of arts, history, folklore, outdoor sport or nature stories and to inspire them on their next adventure, be it in real life or from the comfort of their armchair.”
Among the National Trust podcasts to be featured on Podcast Radio are: • A Beginner’s Guide to Bike Packing – Jo Dyson embarks on a two-day adventure along the North Cornish Coast combining backpacking with cycle touring • Not Lost in Translation – Lowri Morgan hears the story of how the Welsh language has stayed alive • The Inventor’s Playground – The story of an audacious Victorian inventor known as the Magician of the North • Operation Hillside – The story of Hughenden Manor where a National Trust volunteer happened to stumble across a fascinating secret from the past • Taste Along with Wainwright – Ranger Kate Martin and a mystery guest experience a Lake District Walk in an intriguingly different way • Black Hiking – Black Brit from London Sean Douglas introduces his sister to embrace the outdoors through hiking
Podcast Radio also has content partnerships with Wondery, Radio New Zealand, Evergreen Podcasts, Curiouscast Canada and the TED Audio Collective.
The station recently launched brand extension for Business, Comedy and Crime podcasts via its app and website.
The National Trust Podcast will be broadcast weekly on Podcast Radio on Thursday evenings from 24th November.
