New Digital Library Serves Global Podcasting Community
Aspiring and experienced podcasters around the world now have a powerful new resource at their fingertips. The Podcast Knowledge Library launches today as a comprehensive online tool for podcast creators at every level.
Developed through a partnership between German media development organization DW Akademie, Sweden’s MethodKit, and podcast experts worldwide, this free resource builds on the popular MethodKit for Podcasts. That original tool — a deck of cards available in more than 40 languages — serves as a roadmap to podcast development, production and distribution.
Now, the Knowledge Library takes this foundation even further. It brings together expert advice, real-world experiences and resources on every aspect of podcasting, from intros and inspiration, editing and sound design, to platforms and promotion.
Behind this comprehensive resource lies a unique collaborative development process. The Knowledge Library grew out of interactions in PodcasTraining workshops and events around the globe, drawing on questions, challenges and ideas from hundreds of podcasters. These real-world insights helped shape both the content and format of the library, ensuring it responds directly to the needs of people starting or growing their podcasts.
This community-driven approach reflects the project’s core philosophy, as Barbara Gruber, head of the PodcasTraining program, explains: “We wanted something that could grow and evolve with the medium. The podcasting world moves fast, and this tool reflects that. We invite everyone to explore, learn from and contribute to it.”
The resulting library offers a comprehensive toolkit for podcast creators. Each section features the following:
- Tips, tools, and insights sourced from podcast professionals worldwide
- Burning questions and common mistakes make by podcasters
- Recommendations for further reading, listening and watching
- Voices from the global podcasting community, including advice from trainers and learners
- A design that encourages feedback and contributions to keep the library up to date and relevant
Beyond the Knowledge Library itself, the PodcasTraining initiative offers additional resources for the global podcasting community.
