Pivotal Conversations relaunches Emilee Hembrow's Let's Be Real, betting on clips and YouTube to grow the show
Pivotal Conversations has signed Australian influencer icon, Emilee Hembrow's podcast Let’s Be Real for a relaunch under its production banner, the latest show to join the network’s roster with season 2 launching on the 14th of October. The partnership grew out of clip content the two had already been producing together before the show left its previous home, Nova."Em was actually filming with us while she was still with Nova," said Pivotal Conversations founder Kyle Traynor. “Our team loved working with her from the start. She’s got a skill that’s rare, she can hold a real conversation and actually connect with her guests, and we could see it in the clips we were editing for her. They consistently performed well, which is always the tell.”
The relaunch will lean on the same clip and YouTube-first growth approach Pivotal has applied across its roster, built around what Traynor described as Hembrow’s natural strength on camera.
“The show had real potential, but it didn’t have a team behind it that understood the power of video,” Traynor said. “Consumption is our north star. We want to find Em new audiences, build a real community around the show, and bring in the right commercial partners.”
On the commercial side, Traynor said Pivotal treats brand partnerships differently to how they’re typically sold on radio or traditional audio networks.
“We’re not selling ad slots,” he said. “We build long-term partnerships wrapped around the creator, closer to how a team sponsors a Formula One team than how you’d buy space on a billboard. We want reach to grow, we want people to consume for longer, and we want the ads themselves to not feel like ads.”The signing also extends Pivotal’s push into new brand categories. Hembrow who has nearly 950k on Instagram, is a mother and business owner with a long-standing interest in fashion, beauty and interior design; verticals, Traynor said the company already has partners in and wants to grow further.
“When you work with someone like Em, the opportunities are already there,” Traynor said. “We just want partners who share the same view of what a brand partnership should look like.”
Let’s Be Real launched in 2025 and is built around candid conversations with Australian mothers and business owners. The relaunched season’s confirmed guests include Erin Holland, Showpo founder Jane Lu and parenting author Maggie Dent, with new episodes landing weekly.
