Fintech podcast awarded the Silver YouTube Play Button after reaching 100,000 subscribers in just nine months

Press Release ·

The Payments Shed, the fastest-growing payments, fintech and B2B business podcast is celebrating after being awarded the YouTube Silver Creator Award for surpassing 100,000 subscribers.

Launched in October 2025 by co-founders and co-hosts Grant Evans and Justin Hanna, The Payments Shed has quickly become a trusted platform for plain-speaking conversations across payments, fintech, commerce, AI, commercial growth, sales and leadership.

YouTube Creator Awards recognise channels that pass major subscriber milestones, with the Silver Play Button awarded at 100,000 subscribers, Gold at 1 million subscribers and Diamond at 10 million subscribers. For The Payments Shed to reach the first of these milestones less than a year after launch marks a significant achievement.

The podcast has welcomed a standout line-up of senior industry voices, major brands and influential creators, including Lara Acosta, Thomas “Hal” Robson-Kanu, LinkedIn’s Randy Petway, Mastercard’s Ian White, BVNK’s Julia Morrongiello, Visa Consulting & Analytics’ Harry Maurice and Thredd CEO Jim McCarthy.

Co-founder Grant Evans is a recognised payments and fintech voice, with a background in commercial strategy, partnerships and making complex areas such as embedded payments, BNPL, unified commerce and open banking easier to understand. Co-founder Justin Hanna brings deep B2B sales and commercial leadership experience, with a practical, people-first approach to partnerships, growth and business conversations.

Together, Grant and Justin bring an operator-led perspective to The Payments Shed, combining industry knowledge, commercial experience and a straight-talking style that has helped the show resonate with payments and fintech professionals.

Grant Evans and Justin Hanna said: “Reaching 100,000 subscribers and receiving the YouTube Silver Creator Award is a huge moment for The Payments Shed. We started the podcast because we wanted to create a space for honest, useful and commercially sharp conversations across payments, fintech and business.

“To have built such a strong community in such a short space of time is incredible. The support from our listeners, viewers, guests, sponsors and wider network has been phenomenal. This award is really a thank you to our subscribers, our amazing guests, our sponsors, and everyone who has watched, shared, commented and supported The Payments Shed from the start.”

The Payments Shed has built its reputation by cutting through industry noise and making complex topics easier to understand, with conversations spanning payments innovation, fintech, AI, commercial growth and leadership. The conversation also extends beyond the podcast through its LinkedIn newsletter, which shares weekly news and views from the worlds of money, payments and fintech.

The show’s growth reflects the increasing demand for credible, operator-led content in the payments and fintech sector. As the industry continues to evolve, The Payments Shed has positioned itself as a platform where senior voices can share practical insight, challenge assumptions and explore what matters next.

Grant Evans and Justin Hanna added: “This is only the beginning. We have had some brilliant guests, partners and conversations already, and we are excited to keep building The Payments Shed into the go-to media platform for people who are shaping the future of payments, fintech and commercial growth.”
